Title: Project Manager (Multitrack X Audible Off-Mic Project)

Contract Type: Fixed term, part time (freelance) flexible working

Fee: A fixed project fee of £10,000 for delivery of the project and its outcomes

Duration & Working Hours: Flexible to meet the needs of the candidate and the project.

Estimated total of 46 paid days over 6 months- average of 2 days p/w

Start Date: Sept 2023

Reports to: Multitrack Steering Group

Responsible for: Partner Projects

External Contacts: Partner organisations, facilitators, venues, sponsors.

About Multitrack

Multitrack is a charity working for a more inclusive and accessible audio industry.

We are a team of progressive and solution-oriented audio experts who share resources,

train overlooked audio producers, interrogate existing structures and steer major industry

partners so that together, we create exceptional audio and transform our audio industry into

an accessible, fairer workplace.

Overview of Role

To ensure the smooth running of our special partner projects. The Project Manager will play

an integral role in delivering an exciting programme. Multitrack is partnering with Audible, to

help deliver a free programme of training and workshops aimed at people from groups that

are underrepresented in the radio and podcast industry.

The workshops will be aimed at anyone in the UK who is interested in learning about off-mic

roles within audio production. There will be workshops aimed at both complete beginners,

and those who have been working in audio production and are looking to upskill in specific

areas.

This is an evolution of a programme that has been run by Audible in the past, which is being

reimagined in partnership with Multitrack.

The successful candidate understands the fundamentals of project management, is a skilled

communicator and is more than familiar with coordinating resources with a sustainable

budget.

The ideal candidate is versatile and can manage both client relationships and projects.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • The principal point of contact for the programme fielding any queries or concerns on

  • to the MT executive committee.

  • Resourcing a team of freelancers who will be working on this project

  • Supporting other team members with the coordination and booking of virtual

  • workshops

  • Liaising with Multitrack partner organisations and other external contacts

  • Using the Multitrack network to widen the reach of the workshop programme

  • Ensure consistency and quality control.

  • Overseeing and managing the Off Mic x Multitrack programme budget

  • Project evaluation, settlement and final reporting to all stakeholders

Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work to time-sensitive deadlines

  • Versatile and can manage both stakeholder relationships and projects

  • Managing a substantial project budget, building monthly cost reports

Personal specification 

You Have:

  • Experience in accurate scoping, pricing and delivery of projects within budget

  • Experience completing and submitting cost reports

  • Experience in resourcing a Creative Team

  • Proven Project Management experience in an independent role 

  • Experience of coordinating event programmes for the creative industry

  • Excellent communication skills  

  • Excellent organisational skills  

  • Experience of carrying out evaluation and monitoring of development programmes 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the audio industry and the radio sector

  • Experience of working in culturally diverse settings 

  • Proficient in Excel, Google Docs, Gmail

You are:

  • Proactive, flexible, trustworthy, dependable and reliable

  • A good team player but able to work independently with various stakeholders

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge or experience in the audio industry

  • Managed successful arts or community programmes

  • Confident in the recruitment process

  • Has worked in the Arts or non profit sector
